AUCKLAND, Today: New Zealand Blood Service (NZBS) has chosen DDB Group agencies Mango Communications and TRACK Tribal to lead two major national initiatives encouraging more Kiwis to donate blood and plasma.

The appointments follow a competitive pitch and align with NZBS’s push for innovation, digital transformation, and storytelling to inspire lasting donor relationships.

Mango will run a multi-channel campaign promoting blood and plasma donations while supporting the launch of new donor centres over the next year. The work will blend PR, social, influencers, and experiential activations.

“Encouraging more Kiwi to become regular plasma and blood donors is meaningful work and we’re thrilled to bring the full weight of PR, social, and experiential offering to this project.” – Sean Brown

TRACK Tribal will review and optimise the donor experience, delivering a strategy and comms plan to grow the donor base and boost donation frequency through smart data use and digital innovation.

NZBS says the agencies were selected for their strong strategic insights, creativity, and expertise across multiple disciplines – with ideas that felt thoughtful, practical, and inspiring.

“It’s a privilege to support such an important cause,” says Sean Brown, Managing Director Mango. “Encouraging more Kiwi to become regular plasma and blood donors is meaningful work and we’re thrilled to bring the full weight of PR, social, and experiential offering to this project.”

James Blair, Group Managing Director, DDB Group adds, “This is a fantastic opportunity to apply our strengths in CX and data. We’re looking forward to helping NZ Blood leverage its rich data ecosystem to better engage with donors and deliver a seamless, compelling experience across every touchpoint.”
