AUCKLAND, Today: The NZ Podcast Awards are back for 2025, this time with global podcast giant Acast on board as Headline Partner. It’s the fifth edition—and it’s going to be the biggest one yet.
The 2024 Awards reached over 1.2 million Kiwis, and this year promises even more reach, prizes and spotlight moments for podcast creators across the motu.
Acast, the world’s largest independent podcast company, is throwing its support behind three top categories:
- Podcast of the Year
- Listener’s Choice
- Best Māori and Pasifika Podcast or Host
“We’re excited to be supporting the New Zealand Podcast Awards in 2025,” said Ryan Lamont, Senior Content Manager at Acast ANZ.
“There’s so much talent in Aotearoa’s ever-growing podcasting scene and we’re keen to continue championing the creators, stories and great mahi of Kiwis all across the motu.”
Each Acast category winner will score 500,000 advertising impressions across their NZ network to help promote their podcast and grow their audience.
Joining as a Supporting Partner is PodLab Studio, Auckland’s go-to podcast production and content house.

PodLab has backed three big categories this year:
- Best New Podcast
- Best Business Podcast
- Best Branded Podcast
Winners of these PodLab categories will get a free recording session, while all other winners will receive 50% off their next session.
