CHRISTCHURCH, Today: After a decade in London, media personality Andy Rowe is back – and he’s launched the South Island’s first dedicated podcast studio: Red Nine Studios, based in Sydenham, Christchurch.
Red Nine offers full-service podcast production for individuals, agencies, and brands. You can launch your own show or advertise in ones the studio’s already backing.
“After producing shows overseas, I saw how powerful podcasting can be for connecting with people — whether your brand’s global or grassroots. Red Nine is about making that same level of quality and creativity accessible here in Canterbury and beyond,” says Andy.
Andy’s podcasting journey kicked off after a 2014 appearance on The Graham Norton Show – his Red Chair story went viral. That led to The Rugby Pod, which became the biggest rugby podcast in the world.

He’s since launched The Andy Rowe Show, The Ins and Outs, and Finding Wahine, and now co-hosts The Good, The Bad and The Rugby ANZ alongside Justin Marshall, James O’Connor and Jeremy Paul.
Red Nine is already producing local hits like guest episodes of Between Two Beers, The Dom Harvey Podcast, GBRANZ, and has partnered with Fresh Moni and O-Studio for branded content.
With over half of Kiwis tuning into podcasts monthly, and global listeners clocking seven hours a week*, demand’s only growing.
“Podcasting is personal, it’s sticky, and it works,” says Andy. “People feel like they’re part of an intimate conversation, and actually remember what they hear.
“Listeners are also 45% more likely to research a product mentioned by a host,” says Rowe. “That’s why it’s such a powerful tool — and why I wanted to bring it home.”
