AUCKLAND, Today: Entries for the 2020 New Zealand Radio Awards open Monday 3 February and close Monday 2 March 2020.

Entrants will be required to register as a user (scroll down for the link). The website is live now.

Like last year, a written submission template is required to be completed for most categories with the aim to make the entry process easier for all entrants and provide a simpler & more standard process for judges.

One of the major changes to the awards for 2020 is the way Sir Paul Holmes Broadcaster of the Year is awarded. The award was created in 2014 to honour one of New Zealand’s most well-known radio broadcasters.

“Nominations must be for a broadcaster who embodies the attributes of the late Sir Paul Holmes – brave, challenging, and clever.”

Awards committee chairman Jana Rangooni said: “Nominations must be for a broadcaster that displays a truly outstanding performance in the previous year; a broadcaster who embodies the attributes of the legendary Sir Paul Holmes – brave and clever.”

The committee will select a small group of finalists who will be voted on by 50 industry judges.

The finalists will be announced on Tuesday 28 April and the winners at the Awards ceremony on Thursday 4 June in Auckland.
