CHRISTCHURCH, Today: A giant ring box popped up in the heart of the Christchurch city—standing two metres tall and covered in fresh, flowing blooms.
The eye-catching installation was Naveya & Sloane’s way of celebrating 16 years in business and their official move into the South Island. Revealed on Tuesday 9 July, it brought a bit of magic to a regular winter morning—stopping commuters and drawing plenty of double-takes.
The floral piece, created with local florist Bek Novak, was a playful nod to Christchurch’s Garden City name and framed perfectly by the Avon River. Set up at Friendship Corner near the Bridge of Remembrance, the ring box gave passersby a moment of unexpected joy and connection.

As the installation came down, co-founder Rachel Sloane handed out flowers by hand—her way of saying thanks and making everyone feel part of the moment. It marks a fresh chapter for Naveya & Sloane, the boutique jewellery house known for its modern heirlooms and deeply personal approach to design.
Founded in 2009 by Rachel Sloane and Alex Bunnett, the brand’s built a loyal following for its craftsmanship, storytelling and meaning-packed pieces.
This latest piece brought that ethos to life—blending art, emotion and creativity in one beautifully bold welcome to Ōtautahi.
