AUCKLAND, Today: After three decades of creative legends, Saatchi & Saatchi have an unforgettable send off as the doors close to The Strand one final time.
The Strand, Parnell, Auckland have seen a lot of impossible ideas over its years. Last week, three decades of creative Saatchi legends gave its iconic home the unforgettable send-off it deserved.
Naturally, in true Saatchi style it was a vibrant celebration including guests of staff, clients and also alumni. The venue and walls of and celebrated, not only for the end of a legendary chapter, but also for the beginnings of a bold new ones as they closed the doors to The Strand one final time.
The event took place ahead of the agency’s move to Publicis Groupe’s new connected campus on Sales Street, a space designed to spark the next wave of innovation.

The farewell formed part of the Home is where the art is campaign, a nod to the truth every creative knows great work doesn’t live in bricks and mortar, it moves with the people who make it happen.
Guests roamed the spaces that shaped New Zealand advertising history. From the neon signed lift to the infamous Macaskills Bar, soaking in three decades of stories. They also explored the Saatchi & art collection, which, like the team, is making the move to its new home.
A Fresh Era of “Nothing is Impossible”
“The Strand has been a big part of our culture and our industry, but we’re excited to launch the next chapter of creativity, innovation and possibility,” said Mark Cochrane, CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi NZ. “After a great send-off, we’re ready to embrace a new collaborative home where nothing is impossible.”
True to its creative DNA, Saatchi & Saatchi also announced its support for The Arts Foundation’s SuperNova fundraiser as a Business Club member, helping power the next generation of New Zealand artists.
