Spark PHD has made the finals at Festival of Media in Rome – the only Kiwi agency through to the shortlist “in a sea of excellence from around the world,” as ceo Louise Bond put it so eloquently.

“This is a huge acknowledgement of the creativity and innovation of the team,” she said.

The Spark PHD work was cited in two categories – Best Engagement Strategy and Best Event/Experiential Campaign.

“We are so excited that the DB Export Brewtroleum campaign has reached such heights.,” Bond said. “To be a finalist in two categories speaks volumes about how great ideas, intra and inter-agency collaboration and commitment from our client DB Breweries generates work that really connects with consumers and drives the whole business forward.

“The work is a true collaboration between Spark PHD, Spark PR & Activate and Colenso BBDO.”

With ‘media’ at its heart, the Festival of Media is the only global event that draws together themes such as branded content, advertising and social media, free versus paid-for media models, the future of measurement, and procurement in marketing and transformative consumer trends.

The annual awards, now in their eighth year, attracts work from 40 nations.

PHD as a network has 28 nominations, equal #2 with OMD. “While our priority in New Zealand, and as part of a global network, is about producing ‘work that works’, it’s also fantastic to receive industry recognition,” Bond said.

“Spark PHD is an award-winning agency with proven expertise in meeting the business needs of a wide range of local and international brands.  We continue to deliver a depth of expertise and integration that set us and our clients apart in a highly competitive market.”
