APN Outdoor reports a strong response to its Pixel3610 initiative, setting up a strong finals event tomorrow evening (Thursday 24 September) at Seafarers from 6-10pm.
“We had 53 teams (106 people in pairs from the advertising industry) register – slightly oversubscribed as we capped it at 50,” APNO’s Phil Clemas says. “We briefed the teams live at The Paddington on Monday last week, and they had until midnight Sunday to submit their digital outdoor creative entries.”
The judging panel will review all submissions tomorrow afternoon and select the top six finalists, who will be announced during the event (and published the next day at www.mad-daily.com).
The finalists will have 30 minutes to prepare for their five-minute live pitch to the judges and audience. The panel will adjourn for half an hour to confirm their winners.
The supreme winners will win a trip for them both to SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, next March and the Highly Commended team will win travel cards worth $500 each.
On Friday, APNO will post all of the submissions on its facebook page to allow the public to view and make their choice on who they liked the best. The People’s Choice winners will each win a new Canon EOS 1200D SLR camera.
International guest judge Sanjay Manadhar (ceo of US technology development company Aerva) will share some of his experiences and insights of digital outdoor media with our guests. “And,” says Clemas, “as expected, food and beverages along with some music will be part of the setting.”
