Campaign Asia-Pacific has unveiled its annual 40 Under 40 recipients with two Kiwis making the list – indie design & ad agency Run Auckland co-founder Raymond McKay, and DAN Auckland ceo Robert Harvey.
The 40 under 40 celebrates outstanding high achievers in the marketing, advertising and communications industry across Asia-Pacific, selecting innovative thinkers who are helping to drive the industry forward, developing effective strategies and work for their companies and clients.
With close to 15 years of industry experience under his belt, Raymond McKay is one of only a handful of Maori creative directors in New Zealand. He spent the first 10 years of his career working in some of the most respected advertising networks in the world, including Saatchi & Saatchi, Clemenger BBDO, Lowe, Draft FCB, DDB, and 99.
Along with co-founder Laura Cibilich, he has built up his own agency, Run, from scratch.
“Along with co-founder Laura Cibilich, Raymond McKay has built up his own agency, Run, from scratch.”
McKay leads a small (but diverse) team at Run, working with clients including 2degrees, Niue Tourism, and the Food & Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations. 2018 has been a year of growth for the agency, with the number of clients on their books doubling in the last year.
“I’m humbled to be included in this amazing group of leaders in our industry, doing amazing things,” he says.
Apart from a great career in advertising McKay has a number of other entrepreneurial pursuits including a small-batch alcohol company launching late this year, an indigenous leadership film series backed by the Auckland Business Chamber and is also working on a novelty stress relief app.
At press time, M+AD was unable to reach Robert Harvey for comment.
