Is the West Coast ready for Hauraki?

NZME is gearing up to launch the Radio Hauraki brand in Greymouth in just one week – on Tuesday 7 June on local frequency 105.1FM.

“The legendary station is home to some of New Zealand’s most talented broadcasters with Matt Heath and Jeremy Wells at breakfast, Leigh Hart and Jason Hoyte in the afternoons and Kiwi icons Mikey Havoc and Jon Toogood (Shihad) hosting shows each week,” says chief content officer music brands Mike McClung.

“Greymouth’s prodigal son Leigh Hart is fizzed to return home, at least on air. “The West Coast is the ultimate heartland of New Zealand,” he says. “I was born there and it is my spiritual home, so it’s great to be part of the team bringing Hauraki to the airwaves.

“The Bhuja drive show with my mate Jase is a friendly potpourri of bullshit and tall yarns. So, it’s something Coasters will relate to as, from experience, the Coasters do that best!”

Mike McClung said: “We know many on the West Coast are already listening to Hauraki via our iHeartRadio app, and we’re pumped to be able to now launch the station on 105.1FM. Our combination of awesome music and quality banter is a unique one that we know Coasters will enjoy.”

Matt Heath and Jeremy Wells will present their breakfast show from NZME’s Greymouth studios on Wednesday 8 June.
