AUCKLAND, Today: Westpac New Zealand has introduced Closer, a fresh communications platform from Saatchi & Saatchi NZ, Spark Foundry NZ and Digitas NZ, designed to celebrate the people, purpose and ambition driving every business.
At the heart of Closer is Maria, a business owner navigating the emotional highs and lows of running a company. In the launch film, she celebrates a loan approval with her business partner Frank and pushes through quiet times, busy days and well-earned wins.
The idea behind the platform is simple, business owners are always moving forward. Whether it’s growth opportunities, new technology, or shifting economic conditions, every decision starts with people who care deeply about what they do.

Spark Foundry NZ handled media strategy and planning across TV, radio, outdoor, digital and social. Each channel showcases Maria’s moments of challenge and triumph, reinforcing how Westpac’s support makes a real difference.
Digitas NZ ran CX workshops with Westpac teams to recreate the relationship-managed experience. They reworked the SME homepage, refined the information structure, and launched targeted eDM micro-journeys with personalised lending offers.
With partnerships, content, and new projects on the horizon, Closer marks the beginning of a more connected chapter between Westpac and business owners across Aotearoa.
