Takapuna-based animation outfit Cirkus will have a strong presence at this year’s Spikes Asia – with ringmaster Marko Klijn being named a keynote speaker, alongside drag queen/Leo Burnett Hong Kong CD Gianni Gurnani/Gigi Giubilee.

Klijn will showcase “what it takes to give animation a real and handcrafted feel”. Gianni Gurnani/Gigi Giubilee “will shine a new lens on the meaning of talent and the concept of a cultural fit”.

Klijn has promised to write a few words for M+AD readers about the experience. The Spikes will be held in Singapore in October in late September, so look out for his piece in early October.

“Attendees at Spikes Asia come from all over the Asia Pacific region and are a hugely diverse mix of people with individual market challenges and perspectives,” said Spikes co-chairman Terry Savage.

“To reflect and inspire our audience we continuously look to broaden the scope of those who speak on stage and the manner in which they do so.

“We’re delighted to deliver the biggest and brightest speaker line-up in the festival’s history.”
