A step into the unknown for Auckland/Sydney television production service, Film Construction as it brings the AMP-sponsored Dare to Dream series to TVNZ. Dare to Dream is a six episode documentary series featuring ordinary kiwis doing extraordinary things.

Each episode follows an AMP Scholarship recipient as they turn their dream into reality.

“Dare to Dream is a first for Film Construction. It marks our evolution in the film and television production space,” says Patrick McAteer, Executive Producer of Film Construction.

“Our business has been founded on our ability to work with advertising agencies to bring scripts to life. This is still at the core of our offering. However, Dare to Dream demonstrates our ability to also work directly with clients and develop new ways to tell brand stories outside the traditional script for a TV ad.

“AMP came to us looking for a new way to communicate their brand message through AMP Scholarships – its programme that helps inspirational Kiwi’s pursue their dreams. When we started hearing the stories of ambition and success – we knew they would make great TV.

“We pitched the idea to TVNZ who loved it. They then worked with us to get the tone and style right to ensure it integrated seamlessly with the other entertainment content on its platform. The Dare to Dream concept is a powerful way for AMP to share their philosophy of helping Kiwi’s own their tomorrow in an editorial context,” said McAteer.

Viewers will experience the highs and lows of each recipient’s incredible journey as they pursue their dream, driven by passion, ambition and a desire to make their mark on the world.

The featured recipients are paracyclist Byron Raubenheimer, opera singer Amelia Berry, dancer Joshua Guillemot-Rodgerson, Taekwondo champion Frances Lloyd, environmentalist Scott Sambell and Humans of South Auckland founder Jasmine Jenke.

AMP’s Chief Customer Officer Jeff Ruscoe says AMP is proud to support and celebrate amazing Kiwis who are out there achieving great things.

“AMP Scholarships is a true celebration of talented New Zealanders from all walks of life. Through Dare to Dream we are lucky enough to present the uplifting and inspiring stories of six talented recipients who had the courage to apply for an AMP Scholarship and to take the next step in achieving their dreams. What they’ve overcome and accomplished is just incredible and we can’t wait to share their stories with the rest of New Zealand.

Dare to Dream airs Sunday at 4pm on TV ONE, from August 28 until October 2.
