Samsung mocks the ‘notch’

Samsung has a long tradition of mocking Apple’s new products – and there’s no way the Korean giant is going to let the iPhone X escape unscathed.

The latest Samsung TVC pokes the borax at iPhones for their space problems over the years, as well as their smaller screens, vulnerability to water, remote charging, and the dreaded ‘notch’.

Dubbed Growing Up, Samsung’s commercial sees the iPhone addict switch to a Galaxy Note 8 as people line up for the new iPhone X with top notch haircuts. The general theme is that Samsung is always a step ahead of Apple in terms of hardware.

The ad, which features in the latest Adforum Global Top 5, was produced by 72andSunny LA.

Samsung NZ agency Colenso BBDO told M+AD the ad is unlikely to run directly in NZ – but is already available on most international sites, like Youtube.
