APN Outdoor’s creative competition Pixel 361° goes live on Facebook today to choose the final charity that will frame the Pixel 361° competition. This charity will help design the brief for the upcoming Pixel 361° campaign and eventually display their winning campaign over $100,000 worth of APN Outdoor digital media.

The nomination process closed Wednesday with an array of registered NZ charities, nominated by the advertising & media sector for the chance to make the top five, and be a part of the final vote on the APN Outdoor Facebook page housing the public poll (live today).

The nomination survey asked media professionals to nominate a charity and answer ‘Why would a digital campaign work for this charity?’ The final five charities are Auckland City Mission, Attitude Trust, Child Cancer Foundation, Gastro-Intestinal Cancer Institute, and NZ Aids Foundation.

“All five charities are worthy of this opportunity to have a digital campaign on APN Outdoor’s Elite Screens,” said commercial director Jamie Cameron. “The submissions were incredibly compelling and we are eager to raise awareness for these charities, which may not have had the opportunity to engage with our audience.”

Last year’s charity Men’s Health will have their winning campaign go live later in 2016 with DDB’s Liz Richards & Nick Dellabarca winning creative execution, based around the idea that a man dies every three hours from a preventable illness.

The competition itself will follow the same processes as last year as industry experts create and submit a campaign for the winning charity using APN Outdoor’s large format digital billboards, (known as the National Digital Network), as well as airport portrait & landscape screens in and around Auckland & Christchurch Airports.

Pixel 361° charity search will close in 10 days – on Thursday 30 June. The winning charity will be named followed by the release of the judging panel, competition prize, and information for this year’s teams to register.
