AUCKLAND, Yesterday: Integrated indie agency Chemistry has promoted two staff members and hired another two as they gear up for growth.

Chemistry has promoted Mel Moss and Penny Wolhuter to the role of business director, each with the responsibility of joining the leadership team and managing a rapidly expanding client portfolio.

Since Moss returned from the UK in October 2015 her impact on her clients has been exponential, and this latest move has been welcomed by clients and agency folk alike, says All Blacks Tours GM David Caldwell.

“Mel has been instrumental in leading our strategic development putting us on track for record sales and she is also bloody good company for a beer or two,” Caldwell said.

Wolhuter joined in April 2016 as senior account director on Samsung and her star has been on the rise ever since, says Chemistry co-founder/director Joseph Silk. “This is a well-deserved opportunity to expand her portfolio of responsibilities,” he said.

“Our sixth year has been stellar with four new business wins and significant growth. This led us to reassess what 2019 will look like.”

“Our sixth year in business has been stellar with four new business wins and some significant organic growth. This has led us to reassess what 2019 will look like for the team.

“It made sense for us to look internally to support our future growth, and in Mel and Penny we have two first-class leaders who will ably contribute to the agency as part of our management team.”

Chemistry has also strengthened client service with two additions: First up is Kiwi Roshani Mehta, who joins Chemistry from a recent stint in the UK where she spent time at Customer Experience specialist The Marketing Store.

“Not only has Rosh immediately impressed her clients, her deft management of the agency Spotify account, has expanded everyone’s musical tastes,” says Silk.

Supporting Chemistry’s commitment to nurturing new talent, account executive Janice Chan has joined fresh to the industry and bursting with enthusiasm. Chan comes from a retail travel background, expertise that Silk says will serve Chemistry’s travel portfolio well.
