36 creative concepts for a $100,000 Excite campaign

360° images, tap-and-go payment technology, nationally connected games and avatars that mimic movements of shoppers are among some of the innovative concepts presented by New Zealand’s advertising community to vie for the opportunity to win a $100,000 oOh!media Excite campaign.

The challenge – launched to coincide with the media company’s expansion of its fully interactive Excite digital retail panels to cover key markets Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Hamilton and Palmerston North – received 36 creative executions for sectors spanning not-for-profit, FMCG, Entertainment, Finance, and Automotive.

oOh! NZ general manager Adam McGregor said the number and quality of the entries received clearly demonstrated just how creative the Kiwi advertising industry is.

“They all show a clear understanding of how the Excite panels, which are packed with a wide range of technology features spanning from interactive multi-touch screens through to gesture control, can not only build strong brand engagement at the time of interaction but continue through to the online and social environments.

“Many of the entries received could put NZ OOH on the map through something truly engaging and unmissable.”

The judging panel is chaired by OMANZ general manager Derek Lindsey. Other judges are Weta comms chief Nigel Corbett, Avalon Group ceo Ryf Quail, and oOh! CMO Michaela Chan.

Judging is set to commence in the next week, with the winner of the free campaign, valued at up to $100,000, to be announced in November.

Judges will base their winning criteria on the most creative use of the Excite panel and how it integrates with oOh!’s wider leading retail screen offerings which also includes Digital ShopaLives, classic ShopaLites and Evoke large format panels.
