NZ picks up a few nods at Mumbrellas

Independent agencies have dominated the 2015 Mumbrella Awards winners in Sydney on Friday night with Match Media and The Monkeys taking out the Media Agency and Creative Agency of the Year awards respectively. The Mumbrellas are very Aussie-centric – nevertheless, two gongs also found their way into NZ hands, and many others went to companies with strong NZ connections.

The awards were held in front of a capacity audience of 900 at The Star Casino in Darling Harbour.

Colenso BBDO Auckland picked up a Highly Commended (effectively a Silver) in the Creative Agency of the Year category; NZ picked up another HC in the Pro Bono Campaign of the Year category for NZ Breast Cancer Foundation’s Breast Cream Project by Colenso BBDO/Proximity & Skinfood.

Match, which has just been sold to French holding group Publicis, also took out the Award for Culture, while The Monkeys won TV Ad of the Year for the Meat & Livestock Australia Day lamb ad featuring the late Richie Benaud. Coca-Cola’s Colour Your Summer campaign won Ad Campaign of the Year and Best Media Campaign.

The Independent Agency of the Year category was won by Cummins & Partners, with The Monkeys Highly Commended.
