AUCKLAND Today: Acumen has won the 2degrees PR business after a pitch. Aumen ceo Adelle Keely had no problem telling the world (via a PR release) that the pitch process was “robust and competitive” but she refused a simple request to identify the incumbent.

“Ask the client,” she told M+AD this morning.

Acumen’s win comes amid a round of pitches at 2degrees – earlier this month the company switched from incumbent Ikon to award its media account to OMD.

2degrees spokesperson Katherine Cornish said: “The PR appointment comes at a hugely exciting time – we’re experiencing year-on-year growth, there’s 5G on the horizon and the prospect of an IPO which means all eyes are on us. And we’ve got bold and ambitious plans for the future.”

“Acumen will work alongside OMD and TBWA to deliver integrated campaigns for 2degrees.”

“There was a breadth and depth in the skillset of the Acumen team – they’ll be asked to turn their hand to everything from rugby sponsorships to building openings, and from launching 5G.”

Adelle Keely said: “Our teams connected well throughout the pitch process, and we’re looking forward to fighting for fair alongside the 2degrees team.

“Acumen will provide marketing and corporate communications support and work alongside other agency partners OMD and TBWA to deliver integrated campaigns for 2degrees.”
