Inaugural UnLtd Dodgeball brings Adland together to duck, dive and dodge for good

AUCKLAND, Today: Around 150 people across the Auckland advertising industry came together yesterday to duck, dive and dodge for good at the inaugural UnLtd Dodgeball tournament. The event, sponsored by Lumo, raised funds for UnLtd’s work supporting charities helping young people at risk.

UnLtd GM Brendan Muller said: “The competition was fierce with the teams giving it their all on the dodgeball court.

“After action-packed qualifying rounds, MBM and Pitchblack Partners proceeded through to the nail-biting final. In a display of sheer determination and athleticism, MBM finally took home the coveted trophy with a score of 2-1.”

Lily Tootill from winning team MBM said: “It was such a fun day – healthy competition, exercise and a few good laughs all for a good cause. Thanks to sponsors Lumo and of course to UnLtd for the work you’re doing!”

Muller: “The other coveted trophy was the Best Dressed title with teams getting very creative with their outfits. The competition was so tight, a with Dentsu and Pitchblack jointly taking home the title.

“Dentsu impressed with their personalised outfits whilst Pitchblack Partners sold branding on their outfits to their clients, raising over $4000 for UnLtd.”

The players also got to hear from UnLtd’s charity partner Kindness Collective who joined the event to raise awareness of their Christmas Joy Store that provides families with the gift of kindness and dignity of choice.

Players were also treated to drinks by the IAB, coffee by Haines Attract and a photobooth by Lumo.

Lumo ceo Hamish Smith said: “We are thrilled to have supported the inaugural UnLtd Dodgeball event and to get together with our friends from across the industry for such an important cause.

“Supporting young Kiwis at risk is something we are passionate about and it’s fantastic to be able to make a difference whilst enjoying a great day out with the rest of the industry.”

The playing teams included: GroupM, Brandspace Westfield – Scentre Group, Dentsu, Hearts & Science, JCDecaux, Lumo Digital, MBM Media, MediaWorks, OMD, oOh!media, PHD, Pitchblack Partners, Stuff, Together, Trademe, UnLtd All Stars & Warner Bros Discovery.

The next UnLtd Aotearoa event is the Big Shot netball competition on 14 September in Auckland.
