Air NZ goes downhill – fast

Air NZ has shot a new instalment on its long-running Meanwhile in New Zealand campaign – novel twist on the Tortoise and the Hare fable, adding another hero – the New Zealand landscape.

This one has a mountain biking theme, and is set on a spectacular mountain ridge in the South Island, showcasing the area as a summer destination. It was created and shot by Host Sydney.

Air New Zealand general manager Australia Leanne Geraghty says cycling is the fastest-growing participation sport for Australians and New Zealand is the perfect destination for cycling.

“New Zealand ticks all the boxes for cycle enthusiasts with more than 2500 kilometres of pristine and diverse cycle ways to explore,” he said. “Air New Zealand and our alliance partner Virgin Australia operate an average of 200 flights across the Tasman a week connecting the Australian traveller to 25 destinations around New Zealand.”

The previous Air NZ video, which had a Xmas theme, was viewed more than 1.1 million times in the two weeks following its release last year.

The Meanwhile in New Zealand campaign showcases what is happening in New Zealand right now, and encourages more Australians to tick New Zealand off their bucket list and visit now.
