AlmappBBDO Brazil shoots Getty

A global campaign for Getty Images, created by Brazilian agency AlmapBBDO, has been on an awards rampage – most recently in Cannes.

The innovative campaign, which seeks to show the depth of Getty Images’ extensive collection of millions of images, and how through imagery, any idea can come to life, won Gold Lions in Print, Outdoor, and Integrated.

The concept featured images of Angela Merkel, Prince Charles, the Dalai Lama and Pope Francis in an unexpected way – meticulously reconstructed only using creative stills from Getty Images.

All of the Endless Possibilities campaign assets – including film, print, poster and the microsite – utilised images from Getty Images and iStock by Getty Images to reconstruct the faces.

“This is a game changing campaign and it is thrilling to see this response from the creative community,” said Getty’s New York-based chief marketing officer Susan Smith Ellis.

Almapp BBDO senior copywriter Daniel Oksenberg said: “Almapp and Getty have a long partnership together – we were awarded here a few years ago.

“Every year gets harder and harder to reach the big idea because every year the standards are higher. Today we are happy that we managed to get there and be awarded again with a great campaign that we are proud of.”

Over the past seven years, Getty Images and AlmapBBDO have partnered to create award winning campaigns, such as From Love to Bingo, 85 Seconds – and, most recently, the Getty Images 20th anniversary campaign which was awarded two Golds and a Bronze at the One Show Awards in New York in May 2016.
