ANZ takes on fraud this Black Friday

AUCKLAND, Today: As Black Friday and Cyber Monday dominate the shopping scene, ANZ is tackling online credit card fraud head-on with a new campaign developed by TBWA\NZ.

While these sales bring irresistible deals, they also attract fraudsters. ANZ’s Dynamic Security Code offers shoppers an innovative way to protect themselves during this prime shopping season.

The campaign sheds light on the spike in online credit card fraud during major shopping periods. Research shows 15% of all global transactions were fraudulent during Black Friday 2022 (TransUnion), and Netsafe reported a 500% rise in fraud in 2021.

“Black Friday has become one of the busiest times of the year for both consumers and fraudsters, and our campaign takes a sharp look at the risks.”

Through radio and print, the campaign captures the excitement of Black Friday for both shoppers and fraudsters. It cleverly flips the narrative, showing how ANZ’s Dynamic Security Code ends fraudsters’ schemes.

“We’re urging customers to be extra vigilant to the risk of scams and fraud when shopping online this festive season. Dynamic Security Code is another layer of fraud protection that helps Kiwis shop online with confidence,” says Matt Pickering, ANZ General Manager of Marketing.

Shane Bradnick, CCO of TBWA\NZ added, “Black Friday has become one of the busiest times of the year for both consumers and fraudsters, and our campaign takes a sharp look at the risks, flipping the traditional festive narrative to show fraudsters’ plans unraveling thanks to Dynamic Security Code.”

Running through Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Boxing Day, the campaign features across radio, print, and social media.
