AUCKLAND, Today: No M+AD again on Monday, as the nation celebrates Waitangi Day, and the founding of our modern state.

The Treaty of Waitangi – signed on 6 February 1840 – made New Zealand a part of the British Empire, guaranteed Māori rights to their land and gave Māori the rights of British citizens.

The actual Waitangi Day date is tomorrow (Saturday the 6th) but we all take the public holiday on Monday.

M+AD will be back Tuesday.
