AUCKLAND: APN Outdoor, in conjunction with its charity partner Child Cancer Foundation, has tapped DDB’s Kat Tadaki & Kieran Beck as their 2016 Pixel361° winners.

Out of 16 team entries, their campaign Fighting Spirit won the hearts and minds of the judges – both for use of the media as well as delivering a message that resonated with the individuals.

“We were thrilled by the agency engagement to create a campaign that helps such a worthy cause,” said APNO NZ GM Mike Watkins. “The judging process was hard but Kat and Kieran’s campaign jumped out and struck a chord with all of the judges.

“It was emotive, campaignable and a great use of our digital media.”

Child Cancer Foundation ceo Robyn Kiddle said: “For us, what made the winning idea stand out was how honest it was about the reality of a child cancer diagnosis.

“It touches on the challenging and private thoughts and emotions of the child, their parents and siblings, which are often not talked about. We are excited to have the opportunity to work with such a talented and creative team.”

$100k campaign boost
Tadaki & Beck’s campaign will be brought to life for Child Cancer Foundation‘s annual fundraising campaign in March 2017. APN Outdoor is supporting the creative with $100,000 of outdoor media to drive the creative campaign. In addition they will be winging their way to the 2017 SXSW conference in Austin Texas, courtesy of APN Outdoor.
