The Interactive Advertising Bureau has appointed Adrian Pickstock to the new role of Chief Executive Officer. He replaced general manager Alisa Higgins, who left in May to form her own company, Higgings Consulting. As CEO, Pickstock will be responsible for the overall management of the IAB and its objectives, and will report to Chairman Spencer Bailey.

“New Zealand’s interactive spend is now 20.7% and the third largest advertising medium in the country,” said Spencer Bailey. “The sector is on track to be the biggest advertising medium by the end of 2015 and the IABNZ board has decided to appoint a Chief Executive Officer to help drive the organisation towards this target.”

Pickstock has held senior leadership positions with Informa Plc (UK), ACP Media (New Zealand), GN Media (Dubai) and Associated Publishing Media (Cape Town).  Over the last 10 years he has been immersed in helping lead media businesses into the digital world, developing and implementing content, commercial and audience development strategies across multiple platforms including web, mobile, digital publishing and social media.

“Adrian brings a wealth of international media experience to the table and I’m looking forward to working with him as we tackle the opportunities that lie ahead for the digital industry as a whole,” Bailey said.”

Pickstock said: “The interactive digital industry in New Zealand has achieved such incredible momentum over the last few years and I look forward to helping the IAB achieve its vision for online to become NZ’s largest and most effective advertising medium.”

Pickstock joins the IABNZ this week.
