MediaWorks has appointed Oskar Alley as the lead digital editor in the Newshub team. He joins Newshub from Wellington’s Dominion Post where he held a variety of roles including assistant editor, chief reporter, and most recently deputy editor.

Alley was named Senior Reporter of the Year at the Qantas Media Awards in 2003, and brings more than 15 years’ experience to his new position, including reporting for The Dominion, Sunday Star-Times and TVNZ’s Holmes programme.

In his new role he will oversee all day-to-day editorial work on the Newshub website and help drive our overall daily news agenda with smart, fair and competitive reporting.

“We’re fortunate to have someone of Oskar’s calibre bolster our digital team at a time of unprecedented growth,” said Newshub head of digital news Shaun Davies.

Alley said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Newshub‘s integrated news team and have already been blown away by the talented people in the newsroom.
