After six years as editor of New Zealand beverage industry magazine Drinksbiz, Joelle Thomson will be reducing her involvement in the business, but continuing as the expert wine contributor.

“Joelle has continued to strive for excellence during her time at the helm of Drinksbiz, and helped shape the magazine into the success it is today,” said publisher Karen Boult.

“We would like to thank Joelle for the past six years, and for all the incredible work she has put into Drinksbiz. While she will be missed in her full time role, we are lucky that Joelle will still be contributing to the magazine, focusing on her passion for wine and viticulture.”

As of 1 August, Victoria Wells, a former editor of Dish magazine for seven years, will take over the reins as editor of Drinksbiz. Wells has considerable industry knowledge, well-developed trade relationships and a rich history in beverage journalism.

She also established her own writing business in 2014.

“While it is sad to see Joelle step down from her full time position, we are incredibly excited to be welcoming Victoria to the Drinksbiz team, and look forward to working with her to grow New Zealand’s number one beverage industry magazine,” said Boult.
