Ace Asia-Pacific TVC spruiker Stephen Douglas has left his role as Asian head of business at Fin Design & Effects Sydney to take up the general managership at post production house Oriental Post Bangkok (a division of Thai production company Kantana).

Douglas’ new role has a specific focus on Indonesia and China that will see him working between OP’s Jakarta and Shanghai offices.

“We have been searching for the right person to help develop our business and Stephen’s appointment signals a very positive change of pace for Oriental Post and our valued clients in Asia,” Oriental Post ceo Ying Pimlapat told Campaign Brief, citing Douglas’ “trademark passion, drive and energy, as well as his extensive networks throughout Asia and beyond.

“Stephen’s experience and connections will enable us to expand our business in two of our most important markets, Indonesia and China. We are delighted to have Stephen on board.”

A native South Londoner, Douglas has spent the last 15 years working at a senior level in both post production and production in Australia and New Zealand. His CV includes head of business at Oktobor (NZ), general manager at Film Construction (NZ &Australia), and general manager at Digipost Auckland.

“It had to be a great role to tempt me away from Fin,” Douglas said.
