Comedy performance director Florence Noble has joined 8 (the Transtasman production company previously known as 8com).

Noble collaborates with advertising teams to write, direct and occasionally act in comic content and commercials.

“Flo is one of those annoying creative talents who can do pretty much anything she puts her mind to, and yet she’s not a wanker so you hardly ever want to kick her in the balls,” said 8’s Sydney-based chief Katie Millington.

Noble began her career writing copy and directing radio ads for TBWA London, Johannesburg and Auckland. Leaving full time copywriting behind, and having been fired from several cafes, she moved into television and film.

Her first short film reached the finals of the Auckland 48 Hour film Fest in 2006 and her most recent, Things Are Going Really Well, was selected for the LA Comedy Festival, Norrkoping Film Festival, Sweden, and Melbourne International film Festival.

Noble divides her time equally between Australia and New Zealand.

MediaWorks’ long-serving head of brand & marketing Katie Mills has been appointed general manager of marketing and communications at infrastructure consultancy Opus International Consultants.

“Katie comes to us with a formidable reputation for building strong relationships and driving cultural change,” said Opus ceo David Prentice. “She is a strong creative and strategic thinker and works at pace, which has clearly driven the results she has delivered in former roles.”

MediaWorks has yet to announce Mills’ replacement.

Global ad management company Sizmek (NASDAQ: SZMK has appointed media and advertising industry executive Imran Masood as its Sydney-based sales Director for the company’s Australia and New Zealand operations.

Sizmek does a lot of business in NZ – but has no people on the ground on this side of the Tasman. Which means Masood will be quite busy!

He was previously sales director for digital marketing technology provider Amobee, responsible for its suite of cross-channel brand and performance advertising solutions, including the management of trading relationships with global advertising agencies.

He has 12 years experience in advertising and media and has held sales roles at Adconion Media Group, the Ten Network, and MTV Networks across the UK and Australian markets. Hailing from Ireland, Masood started his career in the television industry and moved to Australia in 2009 to focus more on the digital advertising space.

“Imran has a proven track record of success within the media, technology and advertising industry and will help to drive tremendous growth for Sizmek’s digital ad management operations in Australia and New Zealand,” said Jordan Khoo, Sizmek VP for Asia-Pacific.

Masood will head sales across the company’s four key focus areas – programmatic, mobile, video and data. His mandate includes driving further adoption of Sizmek’s MDX open ad management platform and overseeing the Programmatic Business Unit, formed last year.

“I believe we’re in another phase of incredible growth and investment in digital advertising and brand advertisers are increasingly looking for transparency, performance and simplicity,” said Masood. “The growth in the digital sector is being driven by programmatic and video and advertisers want to be expertly guided in how to reap the benefits. Our open, independent digital ad management platform enables these brands to use a single platform to create and deliver inspiring, seamless advertising that drives exponential performance across all channels and devices.”
