The Marketing Association has elected two new board members for the 2016-2018 term – Bindi Norwell (executive director of TNS Global) and Tony Mitchell (business consultant at Datamine). Re-elected for the same period was Stuart Yorston (general manager, Sealord).

On the board, they join Cigna ceo Lance Walker (Chairman); Rainger & Rolfe managing partner Ant Rainger, Fronde director Emma Watson, Auckland Council marketing manager Johanna Boerema-Barr, Foodstuffs group brand director Jules Lloyd-Jones, Volom Brands managing director Paul Wilkes, and MA ceo Gill Stewart.

MediaWorks has appointed Sydney-based media executive Jack Matthews – an experienced company director – to its board in NZ.

Matthews has extensive experience in digital media and driving change in news organisations; he’s also worked in cable networks and broadband which (says the MediaWorks release) will take on increasing importance as industries converge and On-Demand platforms develop.

“This is highly relevant to MediaWorks future strategies,” said the release.

Matthews’ recent roles include ceo at Fairfax Metro Media (Australia), COO at Jupiter Programming (Japan), ceo Showtime (Australia) and ceo TelstraSaturn (NZ).

He currently sits on four boards (Crown Fibre Holdings, Network For Learning, Trilogy International and APN Outdoor) as well as chairing Rewardle Holdings, a digital start-up business based in Melbourne.

MediaWorks has promoted Jessica Knox to head of sales enablement, responsible for managing the group’s trade marketing and sales enablement team, and driving customer engagement.

Knox has been with MediaWorks for four years in a variety of trade marketing and business development positions, including, most recently, client service director.

Chief commercial officer Mark David said: “Jess is truly an expert when it comes to engaging with clients and the industry, and supporting our sales teams with best-practice, innovative tools and resources. Her work managing our trade marketing across radio was invaluable and we’re thrilled to now have her leading the Sales Enablement strategy across group.”
