Singapore Airlines has hired a new NZ general manager. He’s Simon Turcotte and he replaces Edwin Chiang, who’s moving to Singapore Airlines as general manager in Indonesia.

Turcotte is a Canadian, who was most recently general manager of Singapore Airlines Spain & Portugal.

His arrival in NZ coincides with the announcement that Singapore Airlines is boosing capacity on the Auckland-Singapore route in partnership with Air NZ and the introduction of the new premium economy class.

“Our New Zealand customers will soon be able to experience premium economy class when the A380 service returns for the summer on October 26, for departures ex Auckland from October 27,” Turcott said.
