Arrivals & Departures: Y&R Wellington taps Tim Huse for CD role, Andy Fackrell heads for LA

Y&R Wellington has appointed Tim Huse as creative director, working alongside Wellington managing director Tim Ellis.

Huse has over 16 years of experience including stints at Colenso BBDO and Saatchi &Saatchi, and he served as CD at Sugar and Whybin\TBWA. He has been recognised multiple times at Cannes Lions, One Show, D&AD, AWARD and Axis.

Tim Ellis, says he is delighted to have Huse partner him in growing the Wellington arm of the agency. “Tim’s a proven talent and a top bloke,” Ellis said. “I’m looking forward to him bringing his considerable experience building brands and affecting behaviour change for public sector clients to the benefit of our Wellington clients.”

Born and bred in Wellington, Huse says he’s looking forward to immersing himself in his hometown and continuing to build upon the body of world-class work that the agency has become renowned for.

“It has been wonderful seeing Josh, Steve, Tim and the team take Y&R NZ from strength to strength,” he said. “I’m looking forward to joining an agency that’s bringing such a strong creative focus to reaching its clients’ goals. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Incumbent Seymour Pope joins Y&R Melbourne
Incumbent Y&R Wellington CD Seymour Pope, is returning to Australia and joining the Y&R Melbourne team.

Josh Moore said: “Seymour has been a fantastic asset in our Wellington office, but he was only ever going to stay for a short time as his heart belongs in his spiritual home of Melbourne,

“We’ll still be working closely together on our Transtasman clients.”

Andy Fackrell heads for LA
US agency R/GA Hustle has reach around the world to snare senior Kiwi creative Andy Fackrell to fill the role of executive creative director in Los Angeles.

Previously, Fackrell was the Sydney-based regional CD at DDB APAC, and before that was ECD at DDB Auckland (from 2011 to 2013). And before that, he worked at 180 Amsterdam and Wieden + Kennedy Portland (Oregon).

In 2002, while at W+K, he won the Cannes Grand Prix for Nike Tag.
