ASB Auckland Marathon hooks John West as new sponsor

Leading seafood brand John West New Zealand has joined as a sponsor of the ASB Auckland Marathon. John West will be the naming rights sponsor of the John West 12k Traverse – part of a group of races being held in Auckland this October.

The traverse is included in the ASB Auckland Marathon and Barfoot & Thompson Half Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, October 30, 2016.

“MKTG won the Simplot* account in June this year and have been working on a number of projects for the group’s brands, including management of John West’s sponsorship of the 12km run,” says Ryland Wood, MKTG Account Director.

“We’re really excited to be working with the team at John West, and have some exciting initiatives launching at Auckland Marathon including live activations inside the John West marquee as well as sampling of a brand new flavour. Watch this space,” he says.

John West will be launching an important- initiative at the event along with a tasty new product range.

The ASB Auckland Marathon, which dates back to 1936, attracted more than 11,000 participants last year. The traditional 10km event was extended to 12km last year, starting from Smales Farm and includes the traverse of the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

Entries are now open for the 2016 ASB Auckland Marathon offering the ASB Auckland Marathon, the Barfoot & Thompson Half Marathon, the John West 12k Traverse, Heart Foundation 5k Challenge and the Kids Marathon.
