AUCKLAND, Monday: Just three months after launching, Audacity PR has been recognised for its work for Wahiki Creamery in the Westpac Auckland Business Awards (Central).

Audacity PR founder Golnaz Bassam-Tabar took sole charge of the soaring ice cream brand’s PR, marketing strategy and operations in February, and officially launched Audacity PR in August.

On Wednesday night last week, Wahiki was named as an Excellence in Marketing category finalist against three other businesses.

“To be recognised in the three months since we ramped up Wahiki’s overall marketing efforts, this is a huge achievement,” Bassam-Tabar says.

“Audacity has been instrumental in getting our amazing ice cream the fan base it has now.”

“When considered against the well-oiled marketing machines of much-longer established businesses, it is a clear sign that we are on the right track and on our way to securing some great wins together in this strategic partnership,” she said.

“We had a fantastic night, winning the People’s Choice Award for Waihiki and being finalists in the Excellence in Marketing and Best Emerging Business categories for a business that is fewer than two years’ old and only our first ever entry into the awards, heralds greater things to come.”

Wahiki ceo Haman Shahpari said: “We had a fantastic night. To win against three other finalists with more than a thousand votes shows us we are absolutely on the right track on our way to changing the game in our field.

“Audacity PR has had sole charge of all our marketing and PR since only February and in this short time has been instrumental in getting our amazing ice cream the fan base it has now,” she said.

“We have graced every Kiwi media platform in NZ – from glossy magazines to print, broadcast and online media. For two small startups with fewer than two years between us, we are making some serious noise.”
