Nick Rogers and his partner Rosie Broughton have taken over the responsibility of running the Tui Brewery Experience at Mangatainoka, and Monteith’s Brewery Experience in Greymouth. The dynamic duo are now responsible for overseeing the renowned brewery tours, bar and café as well as functions and events.

Rogers & Broughton – with their tourism specialist business The Experience Collective – are responsible for overseeing the visitor experience at both sites. This includes managing the renowned brewery tours, bar and café as well as functions and events.

They will divide their time between their two businesses while DB Breweries will continue to be responsible for all brewing activities on site.

Nick Rogers has a longstanding relationship with Monteith’s (located on the West Coast of the South Island), and Tui (in the Tararua region of the North Island), having spent the past 16 years working for DB in a variety of roles, including oversight of the building and development of the Monteith’s Brewery Experience which attracts 35,000 visitors annually.

He was also instrumental in the development of Tui HQ which opened in 2005 and now attracts 45,000 visitors annually. He was behind the annual sold-out Tui preseason Super Rugby game involving the Hurricanes franchise that first kicked off in 2010 and is now excited about Tui’s new brewery which opens on site this December.

The new brewery will see “innovative” new beers brewed and sold at Mangatainoka while a village-green styled garden bar will enable visitors to view the brewery in action whilst enjoying lunch or a cold beer outside.

Rosie Broughton has skills in communications, brand engagement, events and relationships having worked at the Hurricanes and Wellington Free Ambulance in previous roles. She has also run her own event management company.

“Both Monteith’s and Tui are specialist attractions that tap into the best of tourism in New Zealand and we’re excited about the long term tourism prospects for each of them,” Rogers said. “We will focus on collaborations with other tourism operators and ensure that international and domestic visitors will be encouraged to extend their stay in Greymouth and ensure that Tui becomes a must-do destination on SH2.”
