APAC-wide mobile advertising company Big Mobile has launched Creative Impact, a suite of products and capabilities focused on helping advertisers achieve “a step-change in the calibre of mobile creativity”.

With Australians & Kiwis spending around 35 hours per month browsing mobile web and apps on their smartphones, users and advertisers alike are demanding better brand experiences on mobile, the company says.

“The industry has been understandably focused in the last 12 months on developing infrastructure that delivers mobile advertising efficiently,” says Sydney-based ceo Graham Christie.

“But at the heart of good advertising you won’t find technology, you’ll find creativity that engages, and it’s this creativity that’s ironically all too often an afterthought during the process.”

Creative Impact sees the company align three key areas:

  • The formation of Big Mobile Studios sees the establishment of mobile-first UX and Design teams applying creative principles codified from the collective experience of over 3000 mobile HTML5 rich media campaigns.
  • The company has developed a world-class suite of new rich media ad products solely focused on blending brand engagement, with high viewability, and brand safety.
  • Crucially, these capabilities are given scale through Big Mobile’s Publisher Certification Programme powered by new advertising technology partner, Sizmek (see also today’s Arrivals & Departures), to deliver enhanced optimisation and analytics capabilities.

The new products and services are available across APAC markets including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines.

“In 2015, much was said about ineffective advertising, banner blindness, and ad-blocking – essentially, both industry and end-users need fewer but better ads that communicate well,” Christie said. “We’ve done the hard work to deliver this, and at scale.”

  • Big Mobile NZ is at Loft 503, Level 5, Archilles House, 8 Commerce Street, Auckland. But the company is best reached through Sydney-based marketing manager Melissa Thompson-Pettitt at melissa.thompson-pettitt@bigmobile.com, or phone +61 415 871 724.
