The 10th annual Battle of the Ad Bands takes place tonight at the Kings Arms Auckland, with comedian Jim Batt running the show.

Six agency bands have been practising legendary songs from throughout the last century to take out the Battle of the Decades and win bragging rights, a bunch of prizes and of course, the coveted Botab trophy.

There are no cash door sales but tickets will be available on Eventfinda to purchase in the cab on the way over.

“Bring plenty of business cards, says the Comms Council’s Katie Ward, “because we’ve got loads of prizedraws to enter including bar tabs (thanks to Apex Insurance and Franklin Rd), Event Cinema tickets, Blunt Umbrellas, a Gourmet My Food Bag, Monteiths beer, Vodafone prepays, Fruit Guys deliveries, and Whittakers chocolate.

“Don’t forget gold coins for the sausage sizzle – we’re helping out our friends at the NZ Music Foundation.”

Band prizes include a music video recorded by Franklin Rd and produced by Fish&Clips, a full day’s post-production thanks to MandyVFX, $500 to spend on lunch at Prego, a tailored ice cream flavour from Much Moore, a “carefully curated” hamper of goodies and a $1000 travel voucher from Fortis Travel.

Radio Hauraki will bring you shots at the door, NW Group will be making the stage light up, Much Moore will be giving out free ice-cream, and Soar Print will be displaying the inventive Botab artwork.

So whip out your swan dress, ’fro comb and top hat and get yourself to the Kings Arms tonight.

Tickets are available here. Tickets cost $45+gst+booking fee.
