All Blacks hardman Brad Thorn lends his gravelly charm to a new brand TVC created for Rebel Sport by Ogilvy, and directed by The Sweet Shop’s Joel Harmsworth.

“We sought to celebrate the grassroots winter athlete,” Ogilvy ECD Angus Hennah told M+AD.”

“Our uncompromising approach to winter sports is something that has shaped us as individuals and as a nation. We wanted to focus less on gameplay and more on the emotion of playing sport – not just against the opposition but also against the elements.

“Brad Thorn was the perfect voice for the commercial. It grounds the poetic nature of the words with an authentic rawness.”
