Social Playground has launched its Live Instagram Printer, a next-generation photo booth that engages the selfie generation at events, and drives branded conversations across social media.

The Live Instagram Printer allows Instagram users to take a photo, add an event hashtag and collect a branded print out of their photo – all within 30 seconds. Unlike the traditional photo booth, the Live Instagram Printer enables consumers to take photos anywhere in the event space.

Complementing the Instagram Printer is Social Playground’s Live Feed, a social media aggregator that showcases event photos in real time. As consumers upload their images to Instagram (using the event hashtag), the images are shown throughout the event across one or multiple screens.

Post-event, clients receive a digital gallery of the event images and details insights reports to continue to drive branded conversations beyond the event.

After a successful 12 months in Australia, and 300 global events later, Social Playground has recently launched offices in Singapore and London, and is now operating in New Zealand.

“With over 314,000 Instagram users in New Zealand, 70% of whom use the app daily, Social Playground – a first in NZ – offers brands a unique, memorable and seamless opportunity to engage with consumers, and translate online moments into real-life mementoes,” says Social Playground business director Annabelle Smith.

“The most forward-thinking brands are looking to social media as a more personable way to engage consumers,” she says. “Brands are now engaging consumers at events and turning these engagements into personal relationships via channels such as Instagram. That’s where our Instagram Printer comes in.”

Social Playground’s innovative digital products have been popular with consumers at events such as brand activations, festivals, expos, sporting events as well as through long-term installations in venues such as restaurants and retail stores.

“The Live Instagram Printer is even replacing photo booths at weddings, where guests can help capture special moments from every corner of the wedding,” Smith says.

Social Playground has offices in London, Sydney, Singapore and Auckland.
