AUCKLAND, Today: Film Construction has launched the trailer to the Place film series, an intimate view of one of New Zealand’s most famous film regions, Central Otago and some of the filmmakers that live and work there.
Place is an eight-part conversational series about New Zealand locations and filmmakers.
Executive producer Jozsef Fityus said: “Having filmed in amazing locations all over New Zealand with incredible local crew we thought it would be great to chat to some of these filmmakers, and find out what they love most about filming in this incredible ‘place’ we call home.
“There is a reason why Hollywood filmmakers like Ridley Scott come and shoot here,” Fityus said. “It is a very special place. Hence the name of our films. The depth of filmmaking talent, the variety of locations, rich cross-cultural casting opportunities and the strong exchange rate all add up to a great offering.
“Filmmakers talking to filmmakers – it’s a rather lovely conversation.”
“Series One is based in Central Otago, filmmaking paradise. These mountains, lakes, forests and valleys have hosted scores of filmmakers from all over the world. From major motion pictures to TV series, documentaries, television commercials and stills.
“This online series of conversations gives you some insights into the filmmakers behind the scenes, and the scenes themselves. We explore the landscapes as we hear about what drives them. Some of their favourite on-set moments, and some of the challenges they face.
“You also get a taste of that Kiwi can-do spirit and professionalism that our industry has become renowned for.
