AUCKLAND, Monday: Indie Parnell agency Rainger & Rolfe have ramped up their creative offering with the hire of creative director Chris Long, from 99, where he’s spent the last five years.
During that time he was involved in numerous award-winning campaigns for New World and Genesis Energy, and in 2016 won a Gold Effie for work on women’s shoe brand Ziera.
Rainger & Rolfe managing partner Ant Rainger said: “This is a gamechanger for us.
“CMOs and marketing managers are crying out for a fresh, responsive creative resource that understands them and knows how to help them grow.
“He can make communications sparkle, and we love that.”
“Chris is perfect for this. He’s got the ideal blend of brand, digital and activation skills, and that’s exactly what our clients are asking for. Plus he can make communications sparkle, and we love that.”
Chris Long said:“I’m stoked. I’ve been really impressed with what Ant and Jen have achieved over the last few years, so it’s great to be a part of what they’re building. Plus they’re good sorts, which is always nice.
“Now I’m looking forward to getting stuck in. There are lots of opportunities currently on the boil – everything from brand building, brand awareness and activation projects through to mobile, social and digital programmes, even some untapped opportunities in non-traditional advertising channels.
“Exciting times ahead. Now watch this space!”
No incumbent
There was no incumbent for the CD role. R&R head of studio & design Lauren Proud – now on maternity leave – was managing the role until an appointment was made.
Supreme double
The R&R expansion comes off the back of the agency winning top honours at the 2018 TVNZ Marketing Awards (the Supreme Award) for the second time in four years.
