AUCKLAND, Monday: Clemenger Group NZ has been awarded Toitū carbonreduce certification, an acknowledgement of the group’s commitment to a low-carbon economy.

The certification from Toitū Envirocare provides tangible proof that businesses, like Clemenger Group, are acting on climate change. They are assessed in line with international standards aligned with ISO14064.

Clemenger Group NZ ceo Jim Gall said: “This is another important step in our commitment to sustainability in New Zealand. We want to do the right thing by not only our people and clients, but for the environments where we live and work.

“The process has highlighted where we can reduce our carbon emissions, but also work towards creating an even more sustainable organisation.”

“Coastlands is the largest shopping centre in Wellington – and the only one with two supermarkets.”

As part of the certification, the group underwent an evaluation of its greenhouse gas footprint. It provided a programme and pathway to ensure operations are helping to reduce its carbon footprint by 28% by 2025.

The process measured and set reduction targets for operational emissions, including electricity, business travel, fleet fuel use and offices across all the New Zealand businesses.

Clemenger Group NZ agencies Porter Novelli and Colenso BBDO have also been signatories of the Climate Leaders Coalition since 2018. The Toitū carbonreduce certification recognises some of the measures they have taken as part of this broader commitment to climate action.

Clemenger Group NZ is also Toitū enviromark gold accredited, a system that meets the requirements of ISO 14001:2015 for organisational environmental performance.
