Colenso BBDO, Special Group and DDB are the NZ agencies chosen as finalists for the 2018 APAC Effie Awards in Singapore. Colenso has seven noms, Special four, and DDB one.
Colenso’s haul came in the Alcohol Beverages/Single Market/Brand Experience/Positive Change Environmental – Brands categories for DB Export Beer Bottle Sand, Mars Child Replacement (in Other Products & Services/ Branded Utility), and IAG Renters with Renters (Insurance).
Special Group scored for 2degrees Data Hunt (in IT/Telco and Brand Experience Service categories), and Lion Three Years of Pure Potential (Brand Revitalisation, and Sustained Success),
DDB Group’s spot came for The Other Side of Steinlager (in Brand Revitalisation).
The 157 finalists were determined after two rounds of rigorous deliberations by 200 experienced jurors from across the region.
This year’s finalists saw a wider spread of representation from over 15 different markets, with newer markets such as Pakistan and Bangladesh receiving a spot on the list.
Dominating the list this year is McCann Worldgroup with total of 33 finalists. This is followed by Ogilvy & Mather with 28 finalists and BBDO Network with 22 finalists.
The winners will be announced at the Awards Gala which will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel, Singapore on Friday 27 April.
