Cops enlist O&M

New Zealand Police has appointed Ogilvy as its lead agency, with a prime focus on driving police recruitment efforts. Four agencies contested the pitch, but head of brand James Whitaker will not name them.

Each contender was required to submit an idea that could be used in future recruitment campaigns. Nobody at Police HQ would comment on the appointment.

The incumbent was Clemenger BBDO Wellington, which took over the business when M&C Saatchi closed shop.

The NZ Police spends around $1 million per annum on recruitment advertising.
