AUCKLAND, Today: Newton-based creative indie Crave Global throws open the doors of its private members bar Thursday from 6pm on Wednesday 16 December “to give freelancers a festive celebration”.
The experimental private members bar is open to members every Thursday, with Fridays also added during December. Tickets cost $27.50 and include a drink on arrival plus entertainment.
Crave CD (and co-owner of Thursday) Hadleigh Averill said: “Freelancers can enjoy a night of drinking and dancing, without any of the cringe-factor of embarrassing themselves in front of their co-workers.
“Thursday, which opened two weeks ago, offers an experimental haven for creatives and their friends. Private parties can be held on request, with limited nights available during December.
“We want to save our freelance friends from a lonely beer in the home office.”
“We really value the contribution that contractors make to this industry and have worked with more than a few of the greats over the years.
“But at a time when in-house creative types are knee-deep in secret Santas, festive playlists and boozy lunches, we wanted to save our freelance friends from a lonely beer in the home office.
“The party, which will be held at 224 Symonds Street, is for anyone that runs a small business, is a freelancer, entrepreneur or independent creative.”
