AUCKLAND, January 1: DDB has launched a new McDonald’s campaign, McDelivery, on a day when many Kiwis around the country would love some Macca’s delivered to their doorstep.
The Day After – shot by Goodoil – takes a light-hearted look at moments that will resonate with many people – somewhat the worse for wear after party night – relieved at the sight of a fresh-faced delivery driver with a bag of Macca’s.
The tvc made an immediate impact, picking up the No 1 spot in the first weekly Bestadsontv of 2018 (see story on this page).
Damon Stapleton, DDB New Zealand chief creative officer, says there’s something universal about the spot that he hopes will connect with a wide audience.
“Macca’s has always been there when you need it,” he says. “And now with McDelivery that’s more true than ever before. We’ve played on a number of moments people may find themselves in after a long night, and how good it can be to get Macca’s delivered.”
