How to kill your business during an economic downturn

AUCKLAND, Thursday: The evidence is overwhelming that if you continue to invest in your marketing during a downturn, you will come out of that time far stronger than your competitors, DDB NZ managing director Chris Willingham told NZ Herald business reporter Damien Venuto during an in-depth interview published yesterday (scroll down for the link).

“The sceptic might say, ‘Of course he’d say that – he’s an advertiser’,” Venuto observes.

“That would be a fair comment to make if Willingham and his ilk were the only ones saying it. But they’re not.” Venuto writes convincingly about the research that proves the influential adman’s point.
