Colenso BBDO has whistled up a big-cash competition to celebrate the BNZ Crusaders unparalleled performance on their home turf – more than any other team.

To reward loyal fans, BNZ are hiding $25,000 under the home turf at AMI Stadium for one lucky winner to spend on their own home turf.

To get involved, fans simply visit www.myhometurf.co.nz and stake a claim on one of 15,000 pieces of  turf of AMI Stadium has been divided into where they think the cash might be buried.

The winner will be announced live at half time on Saturday 16 July at the penultimate match of the season when the BNZ Crusaders take on the Highlanders. The winner will then dig up their piece of turf, all under the very watchful eye of the groundsman, BNZ security, and the home crowd. The whole process also be live streamed on the the BNZ Facebook page.

“We’re excited to be supporting Christchurch and to be backing the BNZ Crusaders,” says Rhys Sinnott, senior brand and sponsorship manager at BNZ. “The fans are so passionate and such a big part of the team’s success, they definitely deserve a reward for themselves and their own home turf.”

Colenso ECD Wayne Pick said: “This is a fun way to leverage BNZ’s support of New Zealand’s most popular Super Rugby franchise. Not many fans ever get to step foot on the hallowed home turf, let alone take a shovel to it at half time. $25,000 is a lot of money and will make a really big difference to one lucky fan!”

‘The idea appears to have gone down a treat with the fans,” Pick said. “In the first week alone over 4000 Crusaders fans entered, and that’s before it had even been posted it to the Crusaders’ own Facebook page. With two weeks still to go, fans will need to get in fast to stake their claim.
