Three NZ agencies have been named in the International Echo Award Rankings – a global competition that recognises top data-driven advertising and marketing campaigns for strategy, creative and in-market performance.

Colenso BBDO currently heads the international chart (at No 1), while Kiwi indies Republik and Chemistry Interaction come in at No 3 and No 4, respectively. Clemenger BBDO Melbourne (#2) and Ogilvy New York (#4) round out the top five.

Every year entrants compete for Bronze, Silver and Gold awards in several categories with one Diamond Award going to the best of the best – Colenso/Proximity won the Diamond Echo (for Fonterra Feel Tip Top) in 2013, and again in 2016 (for DB Brewtroleum).

Republik took out the Diamond Echo in 2014 (for Fuji Xerox Wide War One).

Echo issues 2018 entry call
At the same time as the Top 10 announcement, the Echoes organisation issued call for entries for the 2018 edition.

The 2018 categories are split into four groups: Sectors | Channels | Craft | Special. These categories will be judged equally on Strategy, Creativity and Results.

The entry deadline is this coming Wednesday 20 June. Judging takes place July 23-August 16, and the winners will be unveiled in Las Vegas on Sunday 7 October.

This year, over 400 judges will represent 27 countries. They include Colenso ECD Wayne Pick and Republik regional CD Andrew Sims.
